Each night I tuck the kids in to bed I ask each one what was their favorite thing that day. Today, after asking that, I asked another question.

Me (Bryan): “What’s your favorite thing to do?”
Sophia: “Cuddling with my stuffed animals and loving on them.”

Cameron: “Making stuff.”

It’s time to plant for spring, so we all went to the local nursery today. The twins had a blast looking at all the plants.

Twins Rock Concert

Posted on 15th February 2014 in Year 2

Ok, I really need to get some work done on my masters degree today, but I can’t.  The twins are just too cute.

“Rock Concert” is a little bit of an exaggeration, but here’s Cameron on the harmonica with Sophia on the guitar.  Sophia’s face when she’s strumming the guitar…I can’t stop watching this.

I think this is even more impressive since both kids are sick & running fevers.  Go twins!

Sophia’s First Pony Tail

Posted on 15th February 2014 in Year 2

It took 2 years, 3 months and 5 days, but Sophia is now wearing her first pony tail!  Tanya put Sophia’s hair in a pony tail last night while Cameron and I were reading a book before bed.  Sophia walked in sporting her pony tail and I’m pretty sure I almost died.  So cute.

Lunch Time

Posted on 9th February 2014 in Uncategorized

Over the last couple months, the twins have really increased the amount of pretending they do when they play. It’s so fun to see.
Today they’re making lunch!

January Swimming with the Twins

Posted on 27th January 2014 in Swimming, Year 2

The twins absolutely love swimming.  We’ve had a good string of 70 degree days here in southern California, so we warmed up the hot tub (the not-quite-so hot, kid temperature hot tub) and spent some time in it with the kids this week.  They’re practicing kicking, holding their breath under water, and, of course, splashing.

The twins are fairly good at clean up time, but when Tanya asked them to clean up so we could all go swimming, they suddenly became world-class cleaner uppers.  They did this…

I set the GoPro to take a photo every 5 seconds and let the kids play with it for a while.  It’s amazing how good they are at taking selfies already.  They’re also pretty good at taking pictures of their thumbs.

Yay for waterproof camera cases…

They both had lots of fun holding their breath (or at least not drowning) under water…

I’m trying to figure out when I can start their SCUBA lessons.  It’ll be here before we know it.

Birthday Thank Yous!

Posted on 3rd December 2013 in Year 2

We have so much to catch up on it is a little over-whelming…. but better late than never.

Last year we decided that every year for the twins’ birthday we would take a family vacation.  This year we took a 5 day trip to Anaheim, CA, including 3 days at Disneyland and California Adventure (more on that in another post).  When we arrived home, we found this:

This is really the first time the kids have had interest in actually opening boxes and presents so I’d like to share that with you all…

Grandpa & Grandma Duke:  Grandma Duke made them both necklaces.  We love them and anyone who knows Sophia knows she loves jewelry.  We still need to go to the bookstore to pick out some books with the money they received.

Papa & Granny Adams:  They LOVE the piano!

Great Papa & Nana VanderWall:  They love their books and Sophia is fascinated with the music and lights on hers.

Aunt Kristie (my sister), Uncle Randy & cousins Jacque, Zak & Madi:  They continue to sweep the floors everyday.  It is really cute when one of them plays the piano and the other picks up the electric guitar and play “music” together.

My mom’s cousin, Linda… so my 2nd cousin, the twins 3rd cousin…. is that how it works?  I don’t know, anyways…. Linda knitted Sophia a cupcake hat that she immediately put on her head herself and modeled the hat for us.  She loved it!  Cameron liked his knitted hat too but we were too busy taking photos of Sophia to capture him wearing it.  Sorry Linda.

The Robinson Family:  Books with their names all over them…?  How awesome it that!?  Every single page says their name and they can recognize it.  They love them.

Sophia gave Cameron a puzzle:

All those boxes and some envelopes in the mail turned into this!  The Mickey Mouse ears we brought home from Disney.

THANK YOU to all our family and friends who text, Facebooked, emailed, called and send cards/gifts to the twins.  Bryan and I are still trying to figure out how to slow down time.  It really does fly when you are having fun!

Restaurants, Tables and Sprinklers

Posted on 27th April 2013 in Month 17

The twins are learning fast and trying new things out all the time.  Some of their older toys are still fun though.  Here’s Cameron trouncing through their indoor tent’s crawl tube…

Play time

This isn’t a great photo, but Sophia’s having a blast in their indoor tent…

Sophia play time

Reading is still one of their favorite past times….

Cameron really likes kicking back at the table.  We’re about to put up an electric fence to get him to stop…

We took the twins to a local art fair.  Sophia seemed to really enjoy it.  Cameron seemed to tolerate it…

Sophia was the star of the art fair.  Every grandmother in the place stopped to talk to her…

On one of our trips around town, the twins and I stayed in the car while Tanya ran into a store.  Here’s Sophia learning to drive (with the car safely in park)…

We bought a small outdoor table and modified it so the twins could sit at it.  The photos below show their first outdoor eating at the new table.  (It didn’t go quite as well as the photos show.)

Back inside, Sophia REALLY likes tater tots.  REALLY likes.

It’s now warm outside, so the twins got a new sprinkler to play in…

They were a little apprehensive at first, but within a few minutes they were splashing around…

Cameron wanted to make sure this dead leaf got a chance at the new sprinkler…

As  soon as they finished up with the sprinkler, Cameron tested out his slide climbing skills.  No need to walk all the way around to the ladder…

Finally, the twins are big fans of Gaetano’s Ristorante here in Henderson.  Here’s Sophia showing how it’s done.  She is soooo going to kill me for posting all these photos of her…
