Our babies will be here today. More details soon.

We haven’t posted much here because the last month has been pretty tough. Tanya was in the hospital at 28 weeks for 4 days. She was admitted again a week ago and will be there until the twins are born.
Tanya’s sister Sue and my Mom came out to help. It was absolutely amazing to have their help to get through this. We can’t thank them enough. (Thanks!)
Lots of people have been calling, but we haven’t been able to talk with everyone. Sorry, it’s crazy busy. It’s tough to keep up with even immediate family and our closest friends. Here’s the latest.
Tanya still has two buns in the oven. The last couple days (and today especially) have been very tough on her. We’ve been in the “maybe tomorrow” boat for a few days. Another round of test results should be here tomorrow morning. For at least the next 8-10 hours, the plan is to keep the kids in there.
Our perinatologist (high-risk OB) told us today that we won’t be going past next Monday or Tuesday. That’ll put the kids at 32 weeks. That’s about a month early for “normal” twins, but far enough along that they’ll be past most of the risks for long-term health issues.
Tanya’s had 2 rounds of the steroid shots, so the kids’ lungs should be ready to go. They’ll definitely be in the NICU for a while though. We’re at the best hospital in Las Vegas and there’s a great Level 3 NICU just down the hallway.
Tanya fought a migraine most of the afternoon, but just fell asleep. She has to go back on the contraction & heartbeat monitor at 2am. Hopefully she’ll get lots of sleep before & after that.
We’re not sure, but we may have kids here as early as tomorrow. If so, they’ll be just over 31 weeks and probably somewhere in the 3 to 3.5 lbs range. Hopefully things will go well enough for them to stay in until next week.
More as we know it.

Well, I am a week late posting this. We are finally in the last stretch of this pregnancy – the 3rd trimester. I am feeling better and finally putting on weight.
We had an ultrasound to do measurements and we also meet with Dr. Acherman, Pediatric Cardiologist. When Dr. Acherman looked at our little boy’s heart he said (in a very cool Colombian accent) “Beautiful heart, Perfecto!” They he asked us if we mind if he takes a few extra pictures for a study for accreditation he is working on. Our little girl’s heart is just as perfect and beautiful. We were so relieved to hear this. One less thing for us to worry about.
Then we meet with our perinatologist, Dr. Vo and she measured my cervix. She was (and has been at every appointment) surprised at how long and closed off my cervix is for this late in the pregnancy and with twins. That means my body is doing a great job at holding in the twins where they should be. Let’s all pray it stays that way until at least week 37!
As far as measurements go: He is 1 lbs 11 ozs and she is 1 lbs 9 ozs.
Here are a few profile pics of them! He is baby A and she is baby B.
The nursery FINALLY looks like a nursery. We received part of the furniture, but still waiting on the other dresser and the 2 chests.
I still have quite a bit of decorating to do but here are a few pictures of what it looks like so far.
This is what it looked like when Bryan went to bed Monday night:

Well, we had another ultrasound today and the DVD did not burn correct again. We don’t even have pictures. I am sending the DVD back to the clinic so that maybe they can get it to work. We think it just needs to be finalized.
The twins are doing well. Growing like crazy, good, strong heartbeats.
I have been somewhat hesitant to post pictures of me and my belly. As you all know, I had a very rough first trimester and lost weight, which made me quite self-conscious about the way I look. When people ask me if I am pregnant, and I say “yes, with twins” they always say “you’re so small”…. which makes me feel like people think I am not taking care of my babies. I am finally putting on weight but I still have 1 – 2 bad days a week where I puke 2-4 times a day. So basically I put on a few pounds, then lose a few pounds. Our doctor has put me on Prevacid to reduce the acid in my stomach. She thinks that my stomach is over-producing acid and that is what is making me get sick so much. I hope this is going to do the trick. I am sick of getting sick!
So here is a picture of me in our backyard when we got home from our doctors appointment.

Bryan was out of town camping and did not go to this doctors appointment. My friend Chris drove me to the appointment and she was so excited to see the ultrasounds. We asked the tech to record the scans like usual, however, she was a new employee and said that she did not really know how to use the AV equipment. Another tech came in and set up the DVD to record…. or so we thought.
Our kiddos are very active. We watched the little boy kick his sister in the head just like 2 weeks ago, then we saw her raise her hand and push him in the face. It was fun to see and we all laughed that she was already standing up for herself!
All their measurements looks good. They both have almost tripled in weight in the last 2 1/2 weeks. He weights about 13oz, and she is 11oz.
When Bryan came home from his trip I was so excited to show him the video of our little girl pushing her brother in the face. We put the DVD in the computer and it was 36 minutes of blackness. Total Bummer!
I have been doing good. I still have bad days, but only about 1 a week. So much better than all day every day! I am putting on weight and I definitely notice my stomach is getting bigger each day. I really love the changes that my body is going through. The kids kick a LOT and Bryan loves feeling them.
Here are a few pics of their faces:
My good friend Jennifer and her daughter came over to the house and helped me clean out the room that will be the nursery. After the room was cleaned out Jennifer painted the room for me!
Thank you so much Jennifer!

Wow – We are now into month 5! And these little guys are growing like crazy. We had another appt and ultrasound today and it is such an emotional time for me. Our little girl (Baby B) likes to wave at us, so I was laying there and waving to the screen saying “Hi little girl” with tears in my eyes. Our little boy (Baby A) likes to kick his sister in the head.

During this ultrasound the tech did a bunch of measurements and it appears they are both growing exactly as they should be. It looks like both sides of their brains are developing well and their hearts have all their chambers. She (Baby B) is about 4 oz and he (Baby A) is about 5 oz.
